- Calcular freteCommunication in aviation is a challenge for pilots, air traffic controllers, aviation personnel and, consequently, for professionals who are in charge of teaching and assessing the language used in the aeronautical context. The growing demand in the market along with constant commitment with safer skies have posed the need for more and more studies that try to contribute to this issue, especially those which attempt to describe and explain the use of English in aviation. The book brings introductory information about teaching Aviation English regarding general guidelines for teachers in addition to data from academic research conducted in the area. Specific studies based on the analysis of aeronautical accidents and incidents, interviews with pilots and ATCOs and corpus research show that the use of the English language in aviation should be further addressed.
A Editora Universitária da PUCRS (EDIPUCRS) foi criada em 09 de novembro de 1988, sendo atualmente vinculada à Pró-Reitoria de Pesquisa e Pós-Graduação (PROPESQ). A editora publica 20 periódicos científicos, todos em mídia eletrônica, os quais estão reunidos no Portal de Periódicos da PUCRS, que utiliza a plataforma Open Journal Systems (OJS), oferecendo acesso aberto aos conteúdos publicados. Todos os periódicos editados pela EDIPUCRS são membros do Committee on Publication Ethics (COPE) e seguem os princípios recomendados por essa organização internacional de referência em integridade e ética na publicação científica. Os periódicos contam com o Digital Object Identifier (DOI), código identificador que é atribuído a cada artigo publicado. Esse recurso é importante para maior inserção, disseminação e divulgação dos periódicos.
